DPA hosts roundtable with Pacific Community Director-General

5 February 2019
DPA was proud to host an academic roundtable with Dr Colin Tukuitonga, Director-General of the Pacific Community. Dr Tukuitonga provided his thoughts on regionalism as an opportunity for Pacific island countries to influence world policy through sovereign power at the UN. He also discussed ways in which regional entities can promote good governance, maintain peaceful neighbourly relations and create positive development outcomes. Dr Tukuitonga and other participants, which included DPA academics, as well as academics from other ANU departments also drilled down into some of the issues governments and regional entities face in developing and implementing policy, and ways that capacities can be built and maintained.
